Earn Daisy Petals With Easy Girl Scout Beading Crafts

Girl Scout beading projects make for easy meetings, especially during the busy upcoming holiday season.  There are many beading crafts available online or in craft stores.

This Girl Scout Law beading craft is perfect for Daisies. Be sure to have a few volunteers on hand to help the girls.

Before the meeting, separate the beads into sandwich bags, one set for each girl. Included in each bag should be the pony beads, the heart beads, and the elastic already cut and knotted. Decide in advance if you are making bracelets or necklaces. 

As the girls bead, have them pick up a color that you call. For example, you can say "Everyone, please hold up a red bead. What does it stand for? Can you give me an example of this?"

For Brownies and Juniors, this craft is a great ice breaker for the first meeting of the year.  Or they could make this necklace as part of being a sister to every Girl Scout when working with a younger Daisy troop.

If your troop is able to do fundraisers, they can make bead bracelets and sell them at craft fairs or to people they know. It is inexpensive to buy beads in bulk packages.  Girls can also make bracelets and necklaces as holiday gifts for friends and family.

Girl Scout Swaps are also fun for girls to do and share with other Girl Scouts. Beads can be used for an assortment of easy to make Swaps.

Now that you are in full leader mode after not seeing your girls over the winter break, it is time to start planning ahead. If you are selling cookies, then you are knee deep in those activities, earning financial literacy leaves and focusing on troop goals. However, these are still little girls and they need to have a break from all of the cookie talk (and if the truth be told, you as a leader can use a break yourself).

Valentine's Day Baking Crafts

Baking is simply edible crafting. After your troop is done making their Valentine's Day craft, they can decorate cookies to eat. Don't worry-no baking is involved! Simply buy the large box of plain sugar cookies every grocery store bakery sells and some white icing in a tub.

Give each girl a paper plate and a plastic knife. Set out paper bowls of the following decorations and let the girls go to town! Be sure to take pictures of the girls and their creations.

A part of creating a brand new Daisy troop is to create a sisterhood among the girls. This is especially true if you have a group that comes from different area schools. Cheap and Easy Daisy Crafts Using Muffin/Cupcake Liners

This blog post was inspired by a great find.  At the Michael's 80% off post-Valentine's Day craft sale, I scored a basket full of muffin liners for 39 cents a piece. I bake a lot and I do not care what my liners look like-it what it holds that counts!

That got me to thinking about my Daisy Girl Scout leader days, when a walk into the craft store led me to the children's crafting department.  Now that my girls are fifth grade Juniors, I do not often think about easy crafts for Daisy Scouts.  

But my muffin liner stash had the wheels in my head turning.
