Fun Spring Uniforms for Girl Scout Leaders

Happy Spring everyone! I am always so excited for this time of year, as I am sure many of you are like me and are sick and tired of cold and snow. I am a preschool teacher, and keeping the kids inside for a good part of the winter makes all of us a bit needy for sunshine. Even if the thermometer has not risen much above freezing, I know that in a a few short weeks that will change. I will be trading in my sweaters and long sleeve shirts for short sleeves!

Many leaders like to wear some kind of uniform to indicate that they are a leader. Here are some comfortable tee shirts that you can pair with jeans or khakis that lets the girls and anyone else who sees it that you are a Girl Scout leader. Easy dressing for meetings and outings!

Like almost every product on Zazzle, you can customize the tee shirt. You can choose from different styles of shirts, as well as colors. You can also add your troop name!

Don't forget to look for coupon codes!

Girl Scout Week 2020 Activities and Resources for Leaders

It seems like you just finished celebrating World Thinking Day...because you did! Even though many of you are very busy with cookie season, there is another Girl Scout holiday that is just around the corner. It is called Girl Scout Week.

What is Girl Scout Week?

In a nutshell, Girl Scout Week celebrates the founding of the Girl Scouts. Juliette Gordon Low registered the first 18 girls into what would become the nationwide organization we are participating in today. Starting with Girl Scout Sunday and ending with Girl Scout Sabbath on a Saturday, and it always includes Girl Scouts’ birthday, March 12. Many synagogues and churches dedicate a part of their service during this weekend to highlight the girls and give them recognition.

When my troop was younger, we always celebrated this week by doing activities as a troop and optionally, at home. Our Service Unit would have a list of activities for the girls to do. If they did them and I handed in the sheet, complete with parent signature, the girl would receive a fun patch for her vest or sash.

This year, Girl Scout Week 2020 is from Sunday March 8th-Saturday March 14th.

There are free resources and activities for leaders to do with their troop. You can read this blog post and find things to do for Girl Scout Week 2020 that work for your troop.
